Doctor of Philosophy in Chemical and Petroleum Engineering

Students completing the PhD have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge research with nationally and internationally recognized faculty.   Dissertation topics may be chosen from areas including bioengineering, catalysis, renewable energy, sustainability, separations, enhanced oil and gas recovery, unconventional reservoirs, data mining and reservoir characterization, flow in porous media, and reservoir simulation. Research is conducted in state-of-the-art facilities and in collaboration with industry and other programs on campus including business, geology, pharmacy,
environmental engineering, and the medical school.  Our graduates are successful in academia, national laboratories, and in major companies around the world.
